Tangier Police Seize Nearly 1 Ton of Tainted Meat from Illegal Slaughterhouses

980 kilograms of meat unfit for consumption, taken from clandestine slaughterhouses, were seized on Monday by elements of the prefectural judicial police service in Tangier. The operation was carried out in coordination with the services of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST).
The General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) stated in a press release that the research and investigations carried out as part of this case made it possible to arrest the driver of a tricycle who was distributing red and white meat and chicken sausages to street vendors specializing in fast food, flouting all the established standards in terms of public health.
The person concerned, already well known to the judicial services, was placed in custody for the investigation opened to determine the slaughter conditions of this meat, the conditions of its storage, specifies the DGSN.
