Moroccan Police Seize 970 kg of Cannabis in Major Drug Bust Near Zagora

A new international drug trafficking operation was thwarted by the judicial police brigade of the provincial district of the city of Zagora, in coordination with the services of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST).
As part of this operation carried out jointly by the judicial police brigade of the provincial district of the city of Zagora and the DGST services, a 41-year-old individual was apprehended in a douar in the M’hamid region (west of Zagora).
This police intervention made it possible to seize 970 kg of chira (cannabis resin) composed of 36 packages in the "Tagounite" region located 95 km south of Zagora.
The suspect was placed in custody for the preliminary investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office. Meanwhile, the investigations are continuing to identify and arrest any accomplices in this criminal activity, according to the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
