Moroccan Police Seize Over 2 Tons of Cannabis in Coastal City Drug Bust

Elements of the judicial brigade of the city of Assilah arrested on Tuesday morning a 43-year-old individual. He is suspected of being a member of a criminal network active in drug and psychotropic trafficking.
The General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) specifies that the suspect was apprehended during an intervention carried out in the "Khondkiyyin" district of Assilah. The operation was carried out during the unloading of drugs from an off-road vehicle to a warehouse.
The searches carried out by the police elements made it possible to seize 66 packages containing two tons and 320 kilograms (kg) of cannabis resin, which would be intended for maritime trafficking.
The DGSN stresses that the accused has been placed in custody at the disposal of the investigation opened to determine the possible ramifications of this case, and to identify all the people involved.
