Moroccan Police Seize 280 kg of Cannabis at Nador Port, Arrest Spanish-Registered Driver
280 kilograms of cannabis resin were seized on Thursday by the national security elements at the port of Beni Ansar in Nador. The cargo was being transported in a light vehicle registered in Spain.
The operation was carried out in coordination with the Customs elements. In a statement, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) indicates that the car was about to board a commercial cruise to France when routine searches revealed the deception.
The drug cargo was hidden in specially designed areas of the vehicle’s bodywork. The 40-year-old Moroccan driver was arrested. The seized drugs were handed over to the customs administration and the suspect was taken into custody for the judicial investigation opened to determine the possible national and international ramifications of this criminal activity, the DGSN said.
