Moroccan Police Seize Nearly 5 Tons of Cannabis in Major Drug Bust

Elements of the prefectural judicial police service in Casablanca thwarted on Friday evening an international drug trafficking operation. Several tons of cannabis resin were seized.
This operation was a success thanks to the precise information provided by the services of the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST). The Directorate General of National Security (DGSN), in a press release, reported that a utility vehicle was intercepted with large quantities of drugs. The driver was arrested with 4 tons and 967 kilograms of cannabis in his possession. This operation took place at the entrance to the city of Mohammedia.
The suspect was immediately taken into custody and made available for the investigation. The investigations are ongoing, under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office. They will make it possible to identify all the people involved in this criminal network and determine their ramifications at the national and international levels, specifies the DGSN press release.
