Tangier Police Raid Illegal Casino: Cafe Owner Arrested, Clients Face Charges

The Tangier police elements arrested the manager of a cafe transformed into an illegal casino and his clients. The latter were released but risk being prosecuted for violating the state of health emergency. As for the main suspect, he was placed in pre-trial detention in the "Sat village" prison.
It all started with a report from the auxiliary authorities of the fourth district. They discovered that a manager had transformed his cafe into an illegal casino equipped with gambling machines and contraband equipment not declared to the customs department, reports Assabah. The police services took care to verify the information before carrying out a raid on the premises with the local authorities of Tangier. They arrested the cafe manager as well as the clients caught in the act of unauthorized gambling and violating the state of health emergency.
During the searches, they seized five gambling machines as well as significant sums of money in national currency and foreign currency. The cafe manager was taken into custody, brought before the public prosecutor, and then placed in pre-trial detention in the "Sat village" prison in Tangier. His trial will open soon. As for the clients, they were released but could be prosecuted for violating the state of health emergency.
