Illegal Casino Bust in Marrakech: 29 Arrested, Including Foreigners

29 individuals, including 20 foreign nationals, were arrested on Friday evening by elements of the judicial police service of Marrakech. These individuals were arrested for their involvement in the violation of the state of health emergency, the development of a premises for gambling, and the sale of alcoholic beverages.
Based on precise information provided by the services of the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), the 29 suspects were arrested in a villa converted into an unauthorized casino with gambling equipment and where alcoholic beverages are served to customers, reports the MAP, relaying a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
The search allowed the seizure of a large sum of money in national currency and foreign currency, bottles of alcoholic beverages and gambling equipment. Among the suspects, two French nationals, managing the premises, four Senegalese employees and three Moroccans including one wanted at the national level, were taken into custody. As for the other individuals arrested, including several customers, they are the subject of a judicial investigation, under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office, to find out more about this case.
