Notorious Drug Trafficker Among 11 Arrested in Illegal Essaouira Casino Raid

The elements of the local gendarmerie brigade arrested 11 people, including a famous drug trafficker wanted at the national level, in an argan oil production workshop transformed into a clandestine casino. They trampled on the restrictive measures issued to fight the spread of the coronavirus in the kingdom.
Their arrest took place on Sunday evening in an argan oil production workshop suspected of housing a clandestine casino, reports Al Akhbar. The suspicions proved to be true following a raid by the elements of the local gendarmerie brigade. They discovered that the owners of the workshop had transformed the place into a casino, where alcohol is served and a place of prostitution where drugs are consumed.
In the wake, the gendarmerie arrested eleven people, including a famous drug trafficker wanted at the national level for several offenses and crimes. Verifying the identity of the arrested persons allowed the gendarmerie elements to unmask him. He had been sentenced in absentia to 5 years in prison.
On Monday, the elements of the royal gendarmerie proceeded to arrest several people caught in the act of drug trafficking in the vicinity of the clandestine casino.
