Tangier luxury cafés inspections summer hygiene violations
As the summer season approaches, Tangier authorities are intensifying inspections. Surprise inspections have revealed numerous breaches of hygiene rules in several prestigious establishments in the city.
In anticipation of the annual influx of hundreds of thousands of visitors, including many MREs, mixed commissions are conducting major routine surveillance operations. These unannounced visits target classified cafés and restaurants on the corniche, highly sought-after addresses for their sea views. According to Hespress, inspectors found multiple anomalies within these luxury venues, particularly pointing to problems related to storage conditions and general cleanliness.

Faced with these violations, committees issued stern warnings to owners, threatening to take drastic measures if guidelines are not quickly complied with. These checks are part of a broader dynamic affecting all markets and businesses in this metropolis of one million inhabitants. During previous campaigns, local authorities responsible for public health protection proceeded to destroy significant quantities of everyday consumer products and ordered the closure of several establishments.
