Tangier’s Summer Spectacle: Luxury Car Invasion Transforms Beachfront into Millionaire’s Playground

Luxury cars of global brands owned in part by Moroccans residing abroad (MREs) are invading Tangier, particularly the streets of the city or parked near cafes and hotels along the beach during this summer period.
Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes, Bentley, Maserati, Audi and Jaguar... Luxury cars are parked near cafes and hotels along the beach during this summer period. Most of these vehicles have foreign, mainly European, license plates, some have been shipped from distant countries such as the United States, Switzerland and Canada, reports Rue20, noting that this "diversity in the origin of the vehicles reflects the lifestyle of a category of Moroccans residing abroad, who prefer to spend their summer vacations in Tangier, taking with them the outward signs of luxury."
According to the website, certain specific locations in the city of Tangier, such as upscale downtown cafes, have been transformed into unofficial open-air exhibitions of luxury cars, where their owners strive to showcase their features to the public. This elicits the admiration of the customers of the establishments, particularly the young and photography enthusiasts. The Ferrari Purosangue, the only one in Morocco, has entered Tangier. A rare model worldwide, this car costs a billion cents. The ABT Sportsline Audi, another luxury vehicle, of which there are only 125 units worldwide, is currently in Tangier.
