Tangier Launches Urban Safety Campaign Ahead of Tourist Season

The city of Tangier is working to ensure the safety of its residents, especially summer visitors. In this sense, it has initiated a vast campaign for urban safety.
In Tangier, the security services under the Prefecture of Police carried out this week a large-scale urban safety campaign to clean up the corniche in preparation for the summer season. About 14 people were arrested and then referred to the competent security service as part of this campaign. 7 other people who were renting horses on the beach without authorization, thus endangering the safety of visitors, met the same fate. In addition to the arrests, the security services seized several horses that they handed over to the local authorities of the administrative annex so that they could take the appropriate measures.
This campaign, which was launched after the worsening of several worrying phenomena on the corniche, will continue throughout the summer, in order to rid the public squares and tourist sites of illegal activities and to guarantee the safety of tourists and the population.
