Tangier Cracks Down on Unlicensed Street Vendors and Henna Artists

The authorities in Tangier launched a large-scale campaign on Sunday to clear public spaces in the city center.
Local authorities conducted a campaign targeting henna tattoo artists, the famous nakkachates, who were operating without authorization at Sour Al Maagazine, in downtown Tangier.
At the same time, local authorities carried out a large-scale operation to clear public spaces along Mohammed VI Boulevard and several streets in the city center, seizing dozens of carts that were illegally occupying sidewalks and streets.
This campaign is part of ongoing operations aimed at clearing the city’s waterfront and municipal beach, and improving the aesthetics of the Strait city.
