Tangier Launches Crackdown on Illegal Billboards and Satellite Dishes Ahead of 2025 Africa Cup

After Rabat, it’s Tangier’s turn to get rid of all advertising billboards that do not comply with current regulations. The same will apply to satellite dishes. This campaign is part of the ongoing preparations in the Strait city to host the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN Morocco 2025).
Local authorities in the city of Tangier, namely the pasha of the Tangier-City area, the caid of the fourth administrative annex, and authority agents have launched a vast campaign to remove advertising billboards installed haphazardly in a number of main arteries of the city and without respect for legal procedures. Large cranes and specialized trucks have been deployed on the ground.
Dozens of advertising billboards fixed on building facades, belonging to doctors, insurance companies, and restaurants serving alcoholic beverages have been removed at the level of Mexico Street. These billboards were in violation of the legislation governing urban advertising.
Local authorities will continue this campaign, which will also include the removal of air conditioners installed on facades, satellite dishes, as well as the painting of building facades, as part of the ongoing preparations in the Strait city to host the final phases of the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN Morocco 2025), sources told the Al3omk website.
