Tangier Landowner Offers Apartments to Shelter Homeless During Coronavirus Crisis

A wealthy landowner in Tangier has made ten of his apartments available to the homeless during the confinement period.
The keys to these apartments located in the Béni Mekada district are handed over to association activists who can use them during the state of health emergency to shelter the homeless.
The generous benefactor wishes to remain anonymous, because for him, the essence of this action lies in his contribution, in these times of epidemic, to the collective and solidarity effort of all to fight against the spread of the coronavirus. Other good people in the city of Tangier are also contributing to this wave of solidarity by offering products.
The activists of these NGOs, already in possession of the keys to these apartments, are equipping and arranging them, while other benefactors in Tangier have supplied them with essential food products, as well as mattresses and blankets.
As for the future residents of these ten apartments, during the entire confinement period, they will be under the supervision of the local authorities of Tangier and will benefit from a roof, daily meals and medical and psychological follow-up.
