Tangier Region to Produce and Distribute 4 Million Free Face Masks

Four million masks will be produced and distributed free of charge to the residents of Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima. The Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services (CCIS) of the region, in coordination with the Moroccan Association of Textile and Clothing Industries (AMITH), announced this decision on Wednesday as their contribution to the mandatory wearing of masks decreed by the government.
It is in coordination with the competent authorities that the CCIS of Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima and AMITH have decided to open production units exceptionally, in order to produce masks that comply with national health and preventive standards, before the end of April.
This initiative is part of "the contribution to the national effort to contain the coronavirus in Morocco". These masks will be distributed to the residents in coordination with the competent administrative services, reports the MAP.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the exceptional situation that Morocco is going through, and welcomed in this sense "the continuous efforts made by the public and local authorities at the regional level, as well as the adherence of local companies to the cause in order to minimize the consequences of the pandemic".
