Tangier: End of the run for a French drug lord wanted by Interpol
The Moroccan police arrested on Tuesday in Tangier a 34-year-old French national, subject to an international arrest warrant and a red notice from Interpol for his alleged involvement in a large-scale drug trafficking network.
The operation was carried out by the National Brigade of the Judicial Police (BNPJ) in the city of the Strait, putting an end to the suspect’s flight, who was actively sought by the French justice system. The individual was located thanks to the exploitation of precise information, confirming his identification in the databases of the international criminal police organization.

According to the investigation, the man is suspected of having played a central role within a criminal organization specialized in cross-border drug trafficking. His arrest follows an express request from the National Central Bureau of Paris, which had issued a red notice to request his provisional arrest for the purpose of extradition.

The Moroccan authorities have placed the accused in custody, in accordance with the instructions of the competent prosecutor’s office.
