Tanger Med: End of the run for a Frenchman wanted by Interpol

The border police at the Tanger Med port arrested, on Saturday, a 29-year-old French national. The man, of Tunisian origin, was the subject of an international arrest warrant for drug trafficking.

The arrest took place during the usual control procedures at the port. The verification of the traveler’s identity in the database of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) revealed that he was the subject of a "red notice". This arrest request came from the Tunisian judicial authorities for his alleged involvement in a criminal network linked to drug trafficking.

The suspect was placed in custody on the instructions of the competent public prosecutor’s office, pending the launch of the extradition procedure to Tunisia. The National Central Bureau (Interpol Rabat), attached to the DGSN, has already notified its Tunisian counterpart of this arrest.
