French Fugitive Nabbed in Morocco: Global Drug Ring Unravels
Based on precise intelligence from the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), elements of the Marrakech prefecture police successfully apprehended a French national, who was the subject of an international arrest warrant issued against him by the French judicial authorities.
By checking the database of the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) during an identity check, the agents discovered that the 42-year-old defendant was the subject of a red notice. He is wanted by the National Central Bureau in Paris, due to suspicions of his involvement in a case related to international drug trafficking and psychotropic substances.
After his arrest, the French national was placed in custody at the disposal of the competent public prosecutor’s office. The National Central Bureau under the General Directorate of National Security will inform its counterpart in France of the arrest with a view to the extradition procedure.
