Tangier Eases COVID-19 Restrictions, Reopens Parks and Extends Cafe Hours

After a few weeks of restrictive measures, Tangier is regaining some of its lost habits due to the coronavirus pandemic. This is the decision of Mohamed Mhidia, the wali of Tanger-Tétouan Al Hoceima.
The decision to ease certain measures was taken during a meeting of the regional covid-19 committee, held on Monday, October 5, at the headquarters of the Tangier wilaya. Henceforth, except in the event of a recurrence of contamination cases, the opening and closing hours of cafes and restaurants in various neighborhoods of the city have been revised.
Similarly, sports halls, natural parks and public parks have been authorized to open their doors. Cafes can remain open until 11 p.m. As for restaurants, they are allowed to close at midnight. As for neighborhood markets, the authorities decided during the meeting that they will now close their doors at 5 p.m.
These measures came into effect on Tuesday, October 6. They were taken after noting a decrease in the number of positive cases of Coronavirus.
