Morocco’s Ouezzane Implements Strict COVID-19 Lockdown Measures

The city of Ouezzane is strengthening preventive measures to stop the progression of the virus. The new measures have been in effect since November 8.
The multiplication of contamination cases explains on the one hand the reasons that led to the strengthening of protective measures against the spread of the coronavirus. This decision is also part of the recommendations that sanctioned the meetings of the provincial monitoring committee and the local committee, held last Saturday.
Thus, the wholesale fruit and vegetable market must now close at 2 p.m., the municipal market and neighborhood markets will close at 3 p.m., businesses at 7 p.m. and cafes at 8 p.m. As for restaurants, they will close no later than 10 p.m. All types of gatherings are prohibited in public spaces, and access to gardens, parks and public spaces is prohibited from 6 p.m. Parties, wedding ceremonies, funerals and family gatherings are prohibited.
The authorities call on the population to strictly respect these measures for the well-being of all. These measures will remain in effect for 15 days, with the possibility of extending this period.
