Tanger Med Port Prepares for Peak Summer Travel as Moroccans Abroad Return Home

Started on June 15, the ’Marhaba 2022 operation, the largest migration movement between Europe and Morocco, is progressing normally. To anticipate periods of high affluence, the Tanger Med Passengers port, the main gateway for Moroccans residing abroad (MREs) to Morocco, has established a forecast schedule.
The port of Tanger Med is playing the anticipation card in order to better manage periods of high affluence. It expects a significant arrival of passengers during the first and last week of July and a massive departure in the last two weeks of August and the first week of September. According to its estimates, the peaks during the high traffic days could reach 40,000 passengers per day.
The Tanger Med port invites passengers to take into account the traffic forecasts communicated by the port authority, in order to plan their trip under the best conditions. It also invited them to use all available communication channels, such as the port’s website, the mobile app, social media and the Tanger Med radio, to be informed of the news and traffic conditions in the port in real time.
