Suspect in Fatal Hit-and-Run of Teen After World Cup Match Believed to Have Fled Country

The murderer of Aymen, a Moroccan teenager who was hit on December 14 in Montpellier after the Morocco-France match, would be on the run abroad.
More is known about the investigation conducted by the police to find the driver of the car that hit and killed Aymen, aged 14, in Montpellier. According to police sources, the individual at the wheel of a Citroën C4 would have fled by making a U-turn on the tram tracks after being blocked by another vehicle at a red light in the minutes following the death of the teenager.
More than a week after the tragedy, no suspect has been arrested. "The perpetrator of the facts has not yet been identified with certainty, but there are strong suspicions against an individual, who is actively being sought," the same sources indicate.
And to add: "it cannot be ruled out that this individual has fled abroad. The investigations are continuing in any case, under the dual referral of the Departmental Security and the Judicial Police."
Aymen was buried on Tuesday at the Grammont funeral home at 3pm. The family received the teenager’s body after the autopsy performed at the Montpellier forensic institute. Devastated by the loss of their son, they are demanding justice.
