Stray Bullet Kills 15-Year-Old in Ceuta, Sparking Unrest in Spanish Enclave

In Ceuta, a 15-year-old Moroccan minor died after being hit by a stray bullet in the head. His death sparked protests in the poor neighborhood of Principe.
While riding someone else’s bike who was the target in the city of Ceuta, Ibrahim Boufelham, a 15-year-old Moroccan minor, was the victim of a stray bullet that hit him in the head. Admitted to the "Loma Colmenar" university hospital in serious condition, he succumbed to his injuries at dawn, reports the local newspaper El Faro de Ceuta. On Tuesday afternoon, his body was buried in the Sidi Moubarak cemetery in Ceuta.
A settling of scores between two gangs trying to control the drug market in the region would be the origin of this homicide. Ibrahim’s death sparked a wave of protests in the Principe neighborhood. The residents of the neighborhood denounced the lack of security in the streets of the city. Cars were set on fire. Alerted, the civil protection elements arrived on the scene to put out the fire. This situation prompted the city authorities to order the closure of certain establishments and declare a curfew.
