Spanish Police Chief Meets Moroccan Security Head in Rabat for High-Level Talks
The Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance (DGSN/DGST), Abdellatif Hammouchi, received in audience in Rabat, his Spanish counterpart, Francisco Pardo Piqueras, who made a working visit to Morocco.
Francisco Pardo Piqueras was accompanied by senior officials such as the Commissioner General of Information, Eugenio Pereiro Blanco, the Commissioner General of the Judicial Police, Rafael Pérez Pérez, the Commissioner General of Foreigners and Borders, Juan Enrique Taborda Alvaraz, the head of the international cooperation division, Alicia Malo Sanchez and the advisor to the Director General, Jesus Ramirez Jara.
The exchanges with Abdellatif Hammouchi focused on security issues of the highest importance and respond to the desire of Morocco and Spain to further strengthen the relations they already maintain in order to ensure the security and stability of their citizens. The security of border crossings was one of the topics discussed by the two men.
During the exchanges, the two parties agreed on the need to share experiences and expertise in the fight against organized transnational crime. The DGSN press release also mentions that during the interview, the strategies to be put in place to effectively fight the threats of extremist terrorist groups and organized criminal networks active in the western Mediterranean and many other criminal activities such as human trafficking, international drug and psychotropic trafficking were discussed.
