Israel and Morocco to Collaborate on Tracking Fugitives, Police Chiefs Meet

During a working visit to Morocco, Commissioner Yaakov Shabtai, head of the Israeli police, expressed the wish for cooperation between the two countries to track down Israeli fugitives on Moroccan territory.
Yaakov Shabtai is concluding his working visit to Morocco this Friday, August 5, 2022. A first of its kind for an Israeli police chief. On Tuesday, he was received by his Moroccan counterpart Abdellatif Hammouchi, Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance.
During this meeting, the head of the Israeli police advocated for better local cooperation between the Moroccan and Israeli police in order to fight a recently detected trend of Israeli criminals fleeing to countries like Morocco, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates, reports i24News. Many criminals who have fled to Morocco continue their criminal activities in Israel from abroad, according to the police intelligence services.
