Israeli Police Chief Begins 5-Day Official Visit to Morocco

Commissioner Yaakov Shabtai, head of the Israeli police, flew on Monday, August 1, 2022, to Morocco for an official five-day visit.
On the agenda of this official visit, meetings with senior Moroccan police officials and the Moroccan Ministry of National Security, a visit to a number of police and security facilities, the laying of a wreath at the Rabat mausoleum, the burial place of Moroccan kings and sultans, and a meeting with members of the Jewish community and its institutions, reports i24News.
Discussions between the delegation of the head of the Israeli police, composed in particular of the head of the intelligence division and the head of the Israeli external relations unit, and Moroccan officials are also planned. During these meetings, they will discuss strengthening operational, intelligence and investigative cooperation. The objective is to strengthen the relationship between the police forces of the two countries.
Since the normalization of their diplomatic relations, Morocco and Israel have been working to strengthen their military cooperation. On July 18, the Chief of the General Staff of the Israeli Army, Aviv Kochavi arrived in Rabat for a historic visit, during which the two countries took stock of this cooperation.
