Israeli Military Chief to Make Historic First Visit to Morocco

The Chief of the Israeli Defense Forces, Lieutenant General Aviv Kokhavi, will make an official three-day visit to Morocco starting this Monday. He is the first head of the Israeli military command to visit the kingdom.
Aviv Kokhavi will be in Morocco this Monday for an official three-day visit. This trip follows that of the Israeli Minister of Defense, Benny Gantz, last November. On that occasion, the two countries strengthened their military cooperation by signing a memorandum of understanding in the fields of intelligence, industrial collaboration, military training, etc., recalls Jerusalem Post.
Several senior Israeli military and intelligence officials were also in Morocco in March. During their stay, they met with the Moroccan army chief, Lieutenant General Belkhir el-Farouk, as well as senior Moroccan military officials, including the heads of intelligence and operations. The officials of the two countries discussed possible collaboration in intelligence and training.
Last month, Israeli army officers and the defense attaché at the Israeli embassy in Rabat participated for the first time in African Lion 2022, the military exercises organized by the United States and Morocco. More than 7,000 agents from 10 countries, including Brazil, France, the United Kingdom, Senegal and Ghana, took part in these military exercises that took place in the Moroccan cities of Agadir, Kenitra, Tan-Tan, Taroudant and Mahbes.
