Morocco Hosts Planning Meeting for African Lion 2022 Military Exercises

The General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) of the Southern Zone is hosting, until January 28, 2022, the general planning meeting for the African Lion 2022 exercise, with the participation of representatives from several countries, in addition to Morocco and the United States.
In accordance with the instructions of King Mohammed VI, this meeting aims to set the modalities for the execution of the various activities of the African Lion 2022 exercise.
These exercises will include, in addition to training on several operational areas, training on operations to combat terrorist groups, land, airborne, air, maritime and CBRN (nuclear, radiological, biological and chemical) decontamination exercises, according to a statement from the General Staff of the FAR.
Scheduled to take place from June 20 to July 1, 2022 in the regions of Agadir, Tan-Tan, Mahbès, Taroudant, Kénitra and Ben Guérir, the exercise will be "multinational, multi-domain and multifunctional, with the objective of developing technical and procedural interoperability between the FAR and the forces of the participating countries as well as training on the planning and conduct of joint operations in a multinational framework," the statement concludes.
