Morocco’s Security Chief Reshuffles Top Police Officials in Key Cities

Abdellatif Hammouchi, Director General of National Security (DGSN), also Director General of Territorial Surveillance, has appointed new senior officials to head the prefectures of Fez, Tangier and Al Hoceima.
Change at the head of several police prefectures. Chief Commissioner Abdelkébir Farah (number 2) has been appointed head of the Tangier police prefecture, replacing his hierarchical superior, Prefect Mohamed Ohtit Oualla. The latter replaces General Controller Abdelilah Essaid, who was admitted to retire and becomes the new prefect of Fez.
The head of the DGSN, Abdellatif Hammouchi, has appointed Hamid Bahri, head of the Ben Dabbab security region in Ain Qadous in the city of Fez, as head of the Al Hoceima security. He is one of the old hands of the DGSN. As deputy prefect of Casablanca, he had overseen major security files related to hooliganism and the fight against crime.
