Spanish Police Bust Ring Kidnapping Wealthy Moroccan Residents for Ransom

The Civil Guard of Algeciras has dismantled a criminal network specializing in the kidnapping of wealthy Moroccans residing in Spain, demanding high ransoms from their families.
The Spanish police had been informed of the kidnapping of a very wealthy Moroccan by members of the network, reports the daily Assabah. An investigation was opened and led to indications about the car used by the criminals, which was found abandoned on a highway.

By searching the vehicle, the agents found the victim, tied up and locked in the trunk. She also bore marks of violence. The agents found other clues that led to the arrest of six individuals, presumed perpetrators of this kidnapping. Questioned, the accused admitted the facts, explaining that they lured their victims by posing as police officers.
These criminal networks that are increasingly operating in Spain would be the work of Moroccans who collaborate with illegal immigration networks. Their target, Moroccan businessmen involved in money laundering networks in southern Spain and the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla. They kidnap them and demand the payment of a ransom.
