Spanish Police Bust Moroccan Kidnapping Ring in Málaga, Rescue Victim After €10,000 Ransom

National police officers arrested in Malaga four men, including three Moroccans, members of a criminal group, who kidnapped a young man and demanded a ransom from his relatives before releasing him.
The victim’s family paid a ransom of 10,000 euros to the criminal network in order to obtain his release. Once free, he reported to the police that he had been kidnapped. An investigation was then opened by the police officers and led to the arrest of the four alleged perpetrators of the crime, reports Europa Press.

The facts would have occurred in the early morning of May 26, when the accused went to the town of Vélez-Málaga where they kidnapped the victim near his home. They then contacted his relatives to demand a ransom. The family members followed the instructions of the kidnappers and paid them an initial deposit of 10,000 euros, pending a second payment of the same amount, the police said in a statement.
