Lawyer Kidnapped and Robbed in Temara: Suspect with Criminal Record Arrested
Less than a week after the kidnapping and fraud of a lawyer near her home in Temara, she has returned to the moment when she was held hostage in her own car. Her kidnapper was brought before the investigating judge on Monday.
As she was about to leave her villa, in the Sidi Abed district of Harhoura, the lawyer at the Rabat bar was approached by an individual with a criminal record. Armed with a bladed weapon, the kidnapper, aged 24, got into the car and forced her to drive to an empty lot next to the highway.
The accused, who had been convicted 3 times for theft and armed assault, managed to extort 1,500 dirhams from his victim, before abandoning her in this dilapidated place. Later, she told the investigators that he had intended to use her bank card.
According to the newspaper Al Akhbar, it was the exploitation of the images taken by the surveillance cameras of the villa that allowed the investigators to track down the suspect. Apprehended at the home of his parents in Ain Atiq, he initially tried to deny the facts. But he was confronted with the video recordings.
