Moroccan Police Arrest Suspect in Kidnapping of 39-Year-Old Woman Near Tangier

The DGSN announced the arrest by the judicial police elements of Ksar EL Kébir, of an individual suspected of kidnapping and sequestering a 39-year-old woman.
In a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), the police indicate that the suspect, with multiple criminal records, was arrested 6 km from Tangier, in the rural commune of Souaken, in flagrante delicto of sequestration of a 39-year-old victim whose husband had reported the kidnapping the same day.
The operation leading to this arrest was carried out by elements of the DGSN and the Royal Gendarmerie, the statement adds, noting that the investigation and identification operations showed that the arrested individual is the subject of a wanted notice for theft under threat of a knife.
The suspect kidnapped the victim after disagreements with her minor son.
He was placed in custody for the judicial investigation conducted, under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office in order to elucidate the circumstances of this case, concludes the police.
