Judge Robbed and Assaulted in Skhirat; Suspect Arrested with Stolen Phones

The Royal Gendarmerie of Skhirat arrested a 22-year-old man for his involvement in the theft and assault of a judge, in the city center. 12 smartphones, including that of the victim, were found at the home of the accused, which was searched.
The magistrate was assaulted on the public highway, by two individuals riding a motorcycle, reports Al Akhbar. The complaint filed by the victim after the assault mobilized the security and intelligence services of the gendarmerie, who launched coordinated investigations with the high command of the Rabat gendarmerie. The investigations bore fruit and led to the arrest of one of the assailants 24 hours after the assault.
The accused, aged 22, is from Essaouira. He came to Rabat to look for work, but failing to find any, he turned to armed robbery with an accomplice, still at large. The defendant was brought before the Attorney General of the King near the Court of Appeal of Rabat. Following his appearance before the investigating judge, he was placed in pre-trial detention for criminal conspiracy and aggravated theft under threat of a knife.
