Two Dead in Separate Violent Disputes in Salé, Morocco

Two homicides were committed in Salé following violent disputes. A man was killed in the Bettana district and another succumbed to his injuries in the commune of Laayayda over unpaid rent.
New crimes in Salé. In Bettana, a violent dispute between two men turned into a brawl near the municipal pound, in the city center, reports Assabah. Armed with a bladed weapon, one injured the other. The injured man died at his home. The victim’s family alerted the elements of the judicial police. They managed to identify and arrest the perpetrator of the crime. The latter was brought before the Attorney General of the King near the Court of Appeal of Rabat. Prosecuted for violence with a bladed weapon causing death, the accused was placed in pre-trial detention after being questioned by the investigating judge last Saturday.
The second murder took place in the commune of Laayayda. A violent dispute broke out between a landlord and a tenant. The origin of this dispute was unpaid rent. Things quickly took a bad turn. Knife in hand, the landlord stabbed his tenant. The latter did not survive.
Before these homicides, a crime had been committed in Salé. Prosecuted for assault and battery resulting in the death of a night watchman, five members of the same family (father, two sons and two nephews) were placed in pre-trial detention.
