Suspect Arrested in Fatal Stabbing of Moroccan Gendarme in Tangier

A young man suspected of having fatally attacked with a bladed weapon a gendarme in Tangier was arrested this week by elements of the national brigade of the judicial police. Around twenty years old, the suspect would be the main perpetrator of the murder.
Known to the police for acts of violence, the alleged perpetrator of the assault on a gendarme serving at the royal palace in Tangier was arrested on Tuesday, reports the website Ahdath.info. The individual was interrogated the same day, before being brought before the public prosecutor.
On October 11, a gendarme had been the victim of a knife attack in the Mesnana district of Tangier. Following an altercation, the man had been struck by several knife blows, one of which was fatal to the chest.
Two suspects, minors aged 15 and 16, had been arrested 48 hours later and placed in pre-trial detention, pending the start of their trial.
