Spanish Far-Right Party Vox Proposes Converting Prison to Migrant Youth Center

Vox, the Spanish far-right party, currently running for the Municipal Elections, has just proposed to convert the former prison of Sebta into a reception center for unaccompanied minors. And that’s not all...
According to Europa Press, in its program for the municipal elections, the Spanish party Vox proposes the rehabilitation of the former prison of Sebta, a prison that closed a year and a half ago, into a reception center for UASC (unaccompanied foreign minors).
The party sees it only as a temporary place, "until the procedures for their expulsion to Morocco are completed," it says. This is because, according to it, Morocco is the country from which the vast majority of the some 360 unaccompanied foreign minors currently under the custody of the city authorities come.
Furthermore, the party states that it will initiate procedures to force Morocco to put its hand in its pocket. Indeed, the party plans to "demand that the central government have the Kingdom of Morocco take charge of the financing of the costs resulting from the protection of these minors".
For this party, it is necessary for Sebta to "force the State to urgently take the necessary national and international measures to proceed with the return of UASC to Morocco, as well as the urgent expulsion of all immigrants who have entered the city illegally".
