Spanish Far-Right Party Vox Demands Deportation of Moroccan Migrant Minors

The issue of Moroccan minor migrants who have landed on the Spanish coasts in the last 48 hours continues to divide the political class in Spain. The Spanish far-right party Vox is outraged that these minors have been welcomed instead of being sent back home.
On Tuesday, the Spanish Minister of Equality declared before parliament that Spain intends to "host these young people, as they are vulnerable minors." A statement that, according to the newspaper El Pais, has outraged Vox, which then demanded the resignation or dismissal of the minister. "We will not allow foreign minors who have crossed illegally and generate insecurity. In Andalusia, we don’t want them. It is unacceptable, it is not a humanitarian issue, but an invasion and an aggression by a foreign government," he said. Vox goes further and threatens to withdraw parliamentary support from the Andalusian government if these minors are housed.
The Ministry of Equality, which is responsible for child welfare policies, has planned 250 places in centers for minors to potentially accommodate those arriving from Ceuta and in anticipation of those who could arrive in Andalusia following a record influx of migrants in the country. Currently, 1,606 unaccompanied migrant minors would be housed in the centers, according to data provided by the Spanish ministry.
