Spanish Couple Arrested at Ceuta Border with 345 kg of Cannabis Hidden in Motorhome

In coordination with the Customs elements, the National Security Services operating at the Bab Sebta crossing point seized, on Friday, July 19, 2019, 345 kg of cannabis resin, on board a motorhome registered abroad and driven by a Spanish national.
The goods were in the form of tablets. They were on board a vehicle registered abroad and driven by a Spanish national, accompanied by a woman of the same nationality, according to the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
The accused, aged 44 and 46, were apprehended as they were about to leave the national territory, the statement said. The search operation allowed the seizure of the quantity of drugs, meticulously hidden in cavities located in the ceiling of the vehicle.
For now, the defendants have been placed in custody for the purposes of the investigation conducted by the Prefectural Judicial Police Service, under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office. The investigations are continuing in order to determine the source of this quantity of drugs and to arrest the accomplices of this operation.
