French Driver Arrested at Morocco-Spain Border with 55 Kilos of Cannabis

A drug trafficking operation was thwarted by Customs services at the Bab Sebta border post, in northern Morocco. A large quantity of drugs was seized.
During a routine check, the customs officers discovered a quantity on board a car registered in France, says a customs source to the MAP. The man on board was to join the city of Ceuta.
According to the same source, a thorough search, carried out following the suspicious behavior of the driver, made it possible to find 55 kilos of cannabis resin (chira), carefully hidden in "the various cavities located under the floor of the vehicle".
The man was arrested and taken into custody at the Tétouan Police Station for further investigation, under the supervision of the competent Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the same source, the value of this seized drug exceeds 550,000 dirhams (55,000 euros, approximately).
