Spain Coach Luis Enrique Praises Morocco’s Ounahi After World Cup Upset

Moroccan international Azzedine Ounahi impressed Spanish coach Luis Enrique with his performance during the Morocco-Spain match, won by the Atlas Lions.
Analyzing his team’s defeat in the post-match press conference, the Spanish coach acknowledged the good performance of the Moroccan team. He explicitly recognized that his system was destabilized by the Moroccan players.
During this match counting for the round of 16 of the World Cup, one of the Moroccan players managed to make an impression, particularly on the coach of the Roja. It is Azzedine Ounahi, a key piece of Regragui’s system.
"I was pleasantly surprised by number 8. I can’t remember his name, I’m sorry... My God, where does this guy come from? He plays really well! He surprised me," Enrique said, referring to the Moroccan midfielder, mentioning Ounahi. "Hakimi, it’s obvious, Ziyech it’s obvious. En-nesyri, we know him very well. Amrabat, we already know him, he plays very well. He didn’t stop running. He pleasantly surprised us. We talked about it in the staff."
