PSG’s Luis Enrique Praises Moroccan Star Ounahi Ahead of Marseille Clash

The former coach of La Roja, Luis Enrique, current coach of PSG, still has his eye on Moroccan international Azzedine Ounahi, who had caught his attention with his performance in the match between Spain and Morocco counting for the round of 16 of the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
A few months after the 2022 World Cup, Luis Enrique has not forgotten Azzedine Ounahi. During the pre-match press conference between PSG and Olympique de Marseille, the club of the Moroccan international, scheduled for this Sunday evening at the Parc des Princes, the current coach of the Parisian club returned to the round of 16 match of the last World Cup between Morocco and Spain and once again praised Ounahi who had amazed him. "He is an international player. For me, it’s not a great joy to talk about this match again. It’s a match where Morocco had defended very well, especially Ounahi," said the Spanish technician.
This match dating from December 6, 2022 ended with the victory of the Atlas Lions (0-0, 3-0 on penalties). That day, Luis Enrique, then coach of La Roja, discovered Ounahi. "I was pleasantly surprised by number 8. I can’t remember his name, I’m sorry... (the press whispers Ounahi’s name and he takes it up). My God, where does this guy come from? He plays really well! He surprised me," he had said in the post-match press conference. As soon as he arrived at PSG, the Spanish coach had suggested to the Parisian leaders to recruit the Atlas Lion during the summer transfer window, but they did not follow up, their priorities being elsewhere.
