Morocco Stuns Spain in World Cup Upset, Advances to Quarter-Finals
Historic. Morocco qualified for the World Cup quarter-finals tonight by overcoming Spain in a penalty shootout.
It is a historic day for Morocco and Moroccans. They qualified tonight after beating the Spanish team, one of the best teams in the world.
Three heroes tonight. First, coach Walid Regragui who managed in 3 months to build the best Moroccan team of the last 30 years with a fighting spirit. It is almost the same starting eleven as Vahid Halilhodzic and yet he has managed to give confidence to the Atlas Lions.
Second hero tonight: Yassine Bounou who played a big role against this Spanish team he knows so well. First during the two halves and extra time. And then in the penalty shootout, with a smile on his lips he saved all the Spanish goals.
Third hero: Sofyan Amrabat who, alone, monopolized the midfield, leaving no chance to the Spanish attackers.
Bravo Morocco. Bravo Moroccans and bravo to the Moroccan supporters.
