Severe Winter Storm to Hit Morocco: Up to 60cm of Snow, Heavy Rain Expected

Heavy snowfall and heavy rains accompanied by strong winds are expected in several provinces of Morocco from Tuesday to Thursday.
The General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) forecasts significant snowfall in the provinces of Ifrane, Sefrou, Boulemane, Khenifra, Guercif and Taza, from Wednesday at 00:00 to Thursday at 6:00.
This snowfall will mainly occur above 900 m altitude with heights up to 30-60 cm. The provinces of Al Hoceima, Midelt, Taourirt, Jerrada, Beni Mellal, Azilal, Tinghir and Ouarzazate will also experience snowfall of 10 to 30 cm during the same period.
In addition, heavy rains of 30 to 60 mm are expected from Tuesday at 11:00 to Wednesday at 6:00 in the provinces of Tanger-Assilah, Larache, Al Hoceima, Fahs-Anjra, Tetouan, Ouezzane and Chefchaouen. Rains of 25 to 40 mm are also expected on Wednesday from 00:00 to 12:00 in the provinces of Taza, Ifrane, Sefrou and Fès.
Finally, fairly strong gusts of wind up to 60/75 km/h will hit the Rif, the Middle Atlas and the Oriental.
