Severe Weather Hits Morocco: Heavy Rain, Strong Winds, and Mountain Snow Expected

Weather conditions are very unsettled and disturbed at the beginning of the week. The Directorate General of Meteorology (DGM) forecasts locally heavy rains, strong gusts of wind and snowfall from Monday to Wednesday in several regions of the kingdom.
Locally heavy rains ranging from 20 to 30 mm are expected, from Monday at 6pm to Tuesday at 7am, in the provinces of Laâyoune and Tarfaya, the DGM said in an orange alert bulletin.
Likewise, strong gusts of wind (70 to 90 km/h) will be recorded from Monday at 6am to Tuesday at 6am in Tétouan, Fahs-Anjra, M’diq-Fnideq and Tanger-Assilah.
The DGM also announces that snowfall (30 to 60 cm) is expected from Monday at 3pm to Wednesday at 11pm beyond 1,400 m, in the provinces of Ouarzazate, Al Haouz, Azilal, Béni Mellal, Chichaoua, Midelt, Tinghir and Taroudant.
