Severe Weather Alert: Morocco Braces for Thunderstorms and 70 km/h Winds

Several provinces of the Kingdom will be affected from Monday to Wednesday by heavy thunderstorms and strong gusts of wind up to 70 km, according to the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM).
In a special weather bulletin, the DGM specified that these heavy thunderstorms of vigilance level up to 70 mm are expected from Monday at 11:00 a.m. to Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. in the provinces of Al Hoceima, Chefchaouen, Fahs-Anjra, M’Diq-Fnideq and Tétouan.
From Monday 1 p.m. to Tuesday 4 a.m., the provinces of Al Haouz, Azilal, Berkane, Boulemane, Chichaoua, Driouch, Kelâa des Sraghna, Fès, Guercif, Jerada, Kénitra, Khemisset, Larache, Marrakech, Moulay Yacoub, Nador, Ouezzane, Oujda-Angad, Rehamna, Sefrou, Sidi Kacem, Sidi Slimane, Tanger-Assilah, Taounate, Taourirt and Taza will also be affected by the same phenomenon.
According to the same bulletin, the provinces of Al Hoceima, Berkane, Driouch, Guercif, Jerada, Nador, Oujda-Angad, Taourirt and Taza will be affected by these showers up to 40 mm. Locally moderate thunderstorms up to 25 mm are also expected from Monday at 4 p.m. to Tuesday at 4 a.m.
In addition, strong gusts of wind up to 70 km are to be feared this Monday in the provinces of Al Hoceima, Fahs-Anjra, M’Diq-Fnideq, Nador, Tanger-Assilah and Tétouan. They will be accompanied by hail in places.
