Senior Moroccan Police Officer Arrested in Bribery and Blackmail Sting Operation
A senior police officer stationed in Al Hoceima was arrested on Tuesday morning, accused of alleged complicity in a case of blackmail and demanding a sum of money as a bribe.
The arrest follows an investigation triggered by a complaint filed by a woman, claiming that the officer in question was blackmailing her and demanding a bribe.
The judicial investigation, conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, led to the arrest in flagrante delicto of the officer as he was receiving money from the complainant.
According to the same source, the police officer involved has been placed in pre-trial detention, while the investigation continues under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office.
