US Senator Calls for Relocation of African Lion Military Exercises from Morocco

Republican Senator James Inhofe, one of the defenders of the Polisario, asks for the transfer of the next editions of the Moroccan-American military exercise African Lion, away from Morocco.
James Inhofe is one of the supporters of the Polisario and does not hide it. During the examination by the Senate Defense Committee of the nomination of the now Generals Michael Langley and Bryan Fenton to the respective positions of commander of the US Africa Command which organizes the African Lion exercises and commander of the US Special Operations Command, he asked that the next editions of African Lion be held away from Morocco, reports Le Desk.
To justify his request, James Inhofe says he is deeply concerned about the fate of the Sahrawi people. "Morocco has done nothing to repair the damage it has caused to the Sahrawi people after all these years, and it has done nothing to show that it is serious about resolving the crisis," he said. He also accused the kingdom of "misleading several US administrations about their willingness to negotiate." "I have spoken to Senator Rounds and other members of this committee on this issue and why I have pushed the DOD to look at alternative locations for the annual African Lion military exercise that has already been held in Morocco," the elected official also said.
