US and Morocco Begin Planning for Major 2024 African Lion Military Exercise

Morocco and the United States started in September the preparations for the 2024 edition of African Lion, the annual military exercises co-organized by the two countries.
The Royal Armed Forces (FAR) and the U.S. Army’s Southern European Task Force in Africa (SETAF-AF) held several planning meetings between September 18 and 22 for the successful organization of the African Lion 2024 military exercises. Military planners from Ghana, Italy, the Netherlands, Senegal and the United Kingdom participated in these meetings, reports Médias24.
The Moroccan-American maneuvers will take place next summer, from May to June 2024. Like previous editions, the planning starts months before the start of African Lion. These meetings therefore aim to define the training scenarios and objectives as well as the logistical requirements for the smooth running of the exercises for all participants.
