Security Guard Arrested After Tear Gas Incident at Fez Shopping Center
A private security guard in a commercial complex in Fez was arrested on Sunday, December 15, 2019. He is accused of his alleged involvement in a physical assault using tear gas.
The police elements of the Sûreté district were informed by an anonymous call of the critical situation experienced by the employees of a commercial complex, indicates the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
According to the same source, the staff were in a state of suffocation after inhaling tear gas.
At the origin of this situation, an altercation between two private security guards at the entrance of the complex. One of them used a tear gas canister against his colleague, notes the DGSN.
The toll of this assault is heavy: several injured employees after accidental inhalation of the gas. They were taken to the hospital to receive the necessary care, the same source points out.
The search of the suspect’s home made it possible to seize the tear gas canister used during the assault, obtained thanks to one of his relatives. The accused was placed in police custody at the disposal of the judicial investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, in order to determine the ins and outs of this case, it is further specified.
